Valley School KS3
Extra-Curricular Reward Afternoon – Friday 15th December

As a reward for those students who had excellent attendance at after school clubs during the autumn term, we took approximately 70 students off timetable for an afternoon of sport and activity. Over the course of the autumn term, students had to complete their extra-currricular reward cards and had to attend a minimum of 10 sessions to be invited. Throughout the afternoon students experienced martial arts, break dance, basketball, and games with the RAF.  The P.E representatives from each form in KS3 were also invited to thank them for their help in promoting the clubs put on by the P.E department. It was a fantastic afternoon enjoyed by all the students and will be a termly event to encourage increasing numbers to attend the range of sports clubs on offer.

Yr ¾ Cricket Festival – Friday 29th January

Eddie Burke from Notts County Cricket has been in Valley working with our Yr10 sports leaders to develop their communication and organisational skills. The leaders were put to the test at the Festival when Yr3/4 pupils from our family came to Valley for either a morning or an afternoon of cricket based activities and games. The leaders were responsible for running warm ups and setting up activity stations to develop generic cricket skills. This was the first time the leaders had had the opportunity to put their skills into practice with young people and they did a fantastic job of ensuring that the Yr3/4 pupils had an enjoyable day and developed new skills.
