December 2007 Gymnastics Support Another term over and we are feeling happy with the outcome. Denise and I have been working with children from F1 to year 6 and it is obvious that the children have thoroughly enjoyed their gymnastics with the enthusiasm and determination they have shown. We enjoy working with all age groups, but have been particularly been impressed with year 5 and 6 children with a large number of boys, over the last half term. It has been a pleasure to support them and to see the improvement in their skills over the six weeks. The staff have also commented on how much they have learned. Often it’s those simple tips which aren’t always obvious until you see them in action. 
It is great to have the links with schools, which has generated a lot of interest from children and already some of those children have joined us at Retford Gymnastics Club.

On Thursday 29th November Retford Oaks High School, were the hosts for a friendly Cross Country competition in preparation for the Bassetlaw Championships in January. The schools new field was an ideal location for this type of event which was very successful. Several schools took part including Portland, Retford Oaks, Valley and Serlby Park. There was a good atmosphere at the event, and a great sense of achievement- Well done to all who took part.
